- Be courteous on and around the courts
- Leave the court area tidy, lock unoccupied courts, and turn off the lights when leaving
- Show consideration for those living near the courts by not making unnecessary noises
- Respect players by keeping loud conversations or comments to a whisper
- Remain on your court; do not walk onto an adjacent occupied court
- Do not chase after a ball when it gets away onto the adjacent court; wait for a stoppage in play and politely say ‘Ball please’
- Wait for a break in play and then walk around the playing area to get to the second court when moving onto the courts to play
- Do not intentionally bang or scrape the court with your racquet
- Keep infants and children off the courts; babysitting and tennis do not mix
- Respect the presence of players on adjacent courts by minimizing ‘through the fence’ conversations
- All manners of rough play, fighting, heated arguments, vandalism or abusive language constitutes an unreasonable level of un-sportsmanship character and will not tolerated by The Glens Tennis Club or the City of Ottawa. Membership can be revoked.
